Pastor Jerry Berry

Jerry Berry was called to be Pastor by the members of Kelview in February 1998 and had been an associate pastor at Kelview for the 18 years prior to his call.

Kelview Heights is an Independent Baptist church started in June of 1961 by Dr. Frank Johnson who led the church until his retirement in December 1997. The growth in members, outreach, and facilities since its inception has resulted in Kelview Heights Baptist Church becoming a congregation in Midland.

  KELVIEW'S STYLE OF SERVICE

While style is very individual, every church chooses the music, vocabulary and pattern of some era, area or subgroup of society. Kelview Heights has chosen to find a balance that reflects the make-up of its present membership, but will always be sensitive to presenting the uncompromising Gospel in the language and style of those that predominantly populate the Midland area. As the community changes, so will Kelview Heights’ style of communication.

 KEY SETTING FOR DISCIPLE-MAKING

 Large Group: Sunday worship services provide a time to introduce the Gospel message to those seeking a time of inspiration and challenge to believers through praise and God's Word.

Small Groups: Smaller Bible study groups meet weekly on Sunday morning to accomplish essential disciple-making functions which cannot be provided in the larger service setting, such as:

Kelview Heights is a congregation-ruled, pastor-led church.

 TRAINING

Kelview Heights offers a variety of Spiritual Growth opportunities through elective courses and Bible studies on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

 The classes that are offered will vary throughout the year and all members are encouraged to take advantage of the classes as they are announced.

MISSION GIVING

As an Independent Baptist Church, Kelview Heights has the freedom to seek the direction of its missions involvement by individually selecting and supporting those missionaries and projects that the pastor sees as the greatest investment in reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Members are challenged to give by faith, above their regular giving for the purpose of supporting these various missions efforts. Regular reports are shared with Bible Classes from individual missionaries  about their ministries.
